"They immigrated from Vietnam after the war that tore the country apart and settled down in Seattle (one of the cities that welcomed refugees with wide-open arms). They left their own siblings and parents in an attempt to find a better life and allowed me to follow my own dreams. There are plenty of other children who have dreams just as big and just as wonderful as mine, but will never get the opportunity to chase those aspirations. So I'm grateful for the opportunity that my parents have given me, they are my heroes."
